It's unethical for the U.S. government to shift blame for its failure to safeguard the lives of its own people, and to scapegoat others by politicizing the COVID-19 origins, experts have said.

Gerrishon Ikiara, policy and development Economist lecturer at the University of Nairobi said "at first, the government of Trump did not take appropriate measures, and it downgraded this thing basically, trying to put blame on other countries," adding that "there was the failure to inform citizens on what measures they needed to take."

Cavince Adhere, an international relations expert in Kenya said that "transferring blame to other countries, instead of focusing on domestic diameters, that really fueled the evolution of this pandemic."

Egyptian journalist and political analyst Hassan Badeea said that "the issue of the COVID-19 pandemic has been politicized. It has been politicized from the first moment and the United States is fully responsible for it."

Muhammad Asif Noor, director of the Islamabad-based think tank Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies, said that

"the superfluous politicization and controversial statements will result only in failure and frustration among the global community suffering badly with the rampage of the virus on its current Delta variant stage."

By far, the U.S. has recorded the world's highest COVID-19 infections and deaths.
