LUSAKA, Sept. 10 (Xinhua) -- Ten-year-old Osward Mutapa Siabwanda has achieved what most people attain when they are much older.

Siabwanda, a resident of Zambia's capital Lusaka, is the author of "Seize Your Moment", a book centered on personal development including financial management. He is currently working on his second book whose title is yet to be made known.

Interactions with him revealed that he is not only an eloquent speaker but also a deep thinker that communicates his thoughts in a calm and mature way.

It is for this reason that the youngster has featured on a number of media platforms in Zambia. He is also a host of a program about seizing opportunities on one of the local TV stations.

"I believe that it is never too early to teach a child how to handle finances or to establish and manage meaningful relations. My book provides insights to individuals desiring growth at a number of levels," Siabwanda pointed out.

He explained that he was inspired to write about financial literacy and building and valuing relations because they are key to the growth of any individual regardless of age.

To his mother, Siabwanda is just like any other child his age. He enjoys a host of recreational activities including being on a jumping castle and playing football with his friends or siblings.

"I discovered his book writing venture when I came across his diary in his bedroom. He was only six years old at the time when he started working on his first book that was published last year when he was nine years old," explained Siabwanda's mother, Precious Mutapa.

The 37-year-old Mutapa mentioned that chapter two of "Seize Your Moment" which is titled "Skills plus knowledge equals value" is her favorite of the 13 chapters of the book.

She attributed her son's interest in personal development programs and successes to increased exposure to business and skills-building meetings that they both attend regularly.

"I started going with him to business seminars because there was no one to take care of him at home. It was there that his potential as a public speaker and life coach was developed," she explained.

Mutapa went on to recount how on a number of occasions, Siabwanda would share insights about a range of issues that included prudent use of resources at the said meetings, leaving many awestruck by his contributions.

"Many have challenges reconciling his age with what he says. Whenever he is given an opportunity to speak at meetings, he ensures that he talks about things he strives to achieve or has already attained," she said.

She further implored parents not to inhibit their children's potential by setting limits but rather provide the necessary guidance needed for them to discover and exploit their potential. Enditem
