NEW YORK, Sept. 11 (Xinhua) -- Second-seeded Russian Daniil Medvedev defeated Felix Auger-Aliassime in three straight sets, 6-4, 7-5, 6-2 in the men's singles semifinals of the US Open on Friday.
The world No.2 did not give the Canadian any chance, served 12 aces and won a devastating 81% of his first-serve points, while notching a perfect five-for-five on break-point chances on his opponent's serve.
"In the second set, I think everyone felt it was going to be one-set-all, and you never know where the match is going to go. I managed to save the set points and the match turned around completely," Medvedev said.
"I don't think I played my best today, but I am happy to be in the final on Sunday," he added.
The Russian will next play the world No.1 Djokovic in the final. Enditem
