YULIN, China, Sept. 20 (Xinhua) -- China's Olympic boxer Chen Daxiang defended the men's light heavyweight title at China's National Games, defeating Zheng Haojie from central China's Henan Province on Monday.

Representing east China's Jiangsu Province, 25-year-old Chen has dominated the division in the country during recent years. He only lost once since 2017 when he first won the National Games gold in Tianjin.

In Monday's final, Chen outpunched his opponent in the first two rounds. Seconds after the beginning of the third round, Zheng's coach threw in the towel to concede defeat.

"Zheng is only 21 years old. It's too hard for the kid to compete with Chen who's an Olympic boxer," a team doctor with Zheng's side said.

Chen said that he felt more nervous in domestic games as he is always the favorite.

"A win is a bonus for me in the Olympic Games, but it's totally different in domestic games. Every game is a must-win game here."

Chen claimed the first win for China's boxing team at the Tokyo Olympics, but he was eliminated in the second bout against Brazil's Keno Machado. Enditem
