BEIJING, Sept. 22 (Xinhua) -- China's box office revenue of the three-day Mid-Autumn Festival holiday ending Tuesday was 497 million yuan (76.82 million U.S. dollars), showed data by box office tracker Beacon on Wednesday.
It was against over 800 million yuan scored during the same holiday in 2019 before COVID-19 struck.
Disaster movie "Cloudy Mountain" topped this year's Mid-Autumn Festival holiday ticket sales chart with 214 million yuan, accounting for over 40 percent of the total.
Family drama "All About My Mother" that debuted on Sept. 19 came in second with nearly 73 million yuan, followed by the U.S. action film "Free Guy" that garnered 53 million yuan at the holiday box office.
Hong Kong-set action film "Raging Fire" pocketed 45.56 million yuan, an amount similar to that achieved by "To Be With You," a romance movie that opened on Sunday.
Takings from the holiday helped China's total box office this year surge past 34 billion yuan, according to Beacon. Enditem
