HANGZHOU, Oct. 2 (Xinhua) -- The Brazilian embassy in Beijing has brought a selection of Brazil's best animated short films to the Chinese audience.

The Brazilian animations are on show at the ongoing 17th edition of the China International Cartoon and Animation Festival (CICAF), between Sept. 29 and Oct. 4 in Hangzhou, capital of east China's Zhejiang Province.

The 11 selected works cover the period from 1998 to 2018 and demonstrate a production that has used various animation techniques, showing the versatility and creativity of Brazilian animators, said the organizer.

Among the selected films is "Guida," winner of the award for best short film at the Annecy Festival. The film tells the story of Guida, a sweet lady who worked for 30 years as a court archivist and decided to change her mundane routine when she read an ad in the newspaper about a vacancy as a live model in a cultural center.

"We're very excited about the collaboration with CICAF and for the opportunity to promote a closer relationship between the Brazilian animation industry and the Chinese market," said Brazilian Ambassador to China Paulo Estivallet de Mesquita. Enditem
