TEHRAN, Oct. 6 (Xinhua) -- Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian has traveled to the Russian capital Moscow for talks on the recent developments in the Caucasus region, Tasnim news agency reported on Wednesday.

He will meet his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov to hold "serious talks" and coordinate stances on the developments in the Caucasus region, Amir Abdollahian said upon arrival in Moscow on Tuesday evening.

The Iranian foreign minister urged Russia to show "sensitivity" to any possible change in the borders of countries in the Caucasus region.

Amir Abdollahian hailed what he called "very close" political views of Tehran and Moscow toward the region in recent years, adding that the two countries have been working in constructive coordination when it comes to the common interests.

This is Amir Abdollahian's first visit to Russia since he took office as Iran's foreign minister. Enditem
