BEIRUT, Oct. 6 (Xinhua) -- Cyprus will reconstruct the obstetric and pediatric departments at the Karantina Governmental Hospital which was destroyed by the Beirut explosions on Aug. 4, 2020, visiting Cypriot Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Christodoulides said on Wednesday.
The Cypriot official's remarks came during his tour at the hospital along with a delegation from the Lebanese Health Ministry and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), reported by the National News Agency.
Christodoulides praised the hospital for continuing to provide high-quality services following the blasts.
He also affirmed the depth of relations between the two countries, and welcomed the formation of the new government in Lebanon, considering it a "positive development." Enditem
