The 15th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity or the COP15 will kick off in Kunming, southwest China's Yunnan Province on Oct. 11.

Baofeng Peninsula Wetland covering an area of about 108 hectares is an outdoor exhibition project for COP15.

Local authorities have rehabilitated 12 kinds of plant communities here, totaling 101 plant species.

The wetland has also been working to rehabilitate endemic fish and attract native birds.

The wetland is located near Dianchi Lake, which used to be one of the most polluted lakes in China.

Now after years of conservation and ecological restoration, the lake has taken on a new look with a significant increase of wetlands surrounding it.
