China's new yuan loans rise to 1.66 trln yuan in September

BEIJING, Oct. 13 (Xinhua) -- China's new yuan-denominated loans increased to 1.66 trillion yuan (about 256.92 billion U.S. dollars) last month, central bank data showed Wednesday.

The figure was up from 1.22 trillion yuan the previous month, but was down by 232.7 billion yuan from a year ago, according to the People's Bank of China.

The M2, a broad measure of money supply that covers cash in circulation and all deposits, increased 8.3 percent year on year to 234.28 trillion yuan at the end of September, the data showed. Enditem
