As a UN biodiversity conference was held in China's Kunming, Alberto Gomez, founder of the Botanical Garden of Quindio in Colombia, said China is an example to follow in order to structure botanical gardens in the South American country.
Gomez also highlighted the importance of the establishment of the Kunming Biodiversity Fund, a pledge China made at the COP15 in Kunming, to support preserving biodiversity in developing countries to the tune of 1.5 billion yuan (233 million U.S. dollars).
