KABUL -- Security authorities in Afghanistan have arrested 250 militants affiliated with the Islamic State (IS) terror group over the past one month, local media reported Thursday.

"A total of 250 individuals affiliated with the IS, many of whom fled prisons, have been arrested over the past one month," Tolo News television channel quoted the Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid as saying.

SEOUL -- Two Chinese crew members were rescued Thursday after a fishing boat capsized in waters off South Korea's easternmost islets of Dokdo (called Takeshima by Japan), according to the Chinese embassy in South Korea.

The two rescued members, together with a South Korean crew member, were taken to hospital by a helicopter, and no other survivors have been found, a spokesperson of the Chinese embassy said, citing the South Korean side.

NEW DELHI -- Death toll in the floods due to heavy rains in the northern Indian state of Uttarakhand Thursday rose to 60, local government officials said.

At least 18 others were injured and two were reported to be missing.

The heavy rains lashed the state between Sunday and Tuesday, triggering floods and waterlogging, besides inundating several areas. The floods also caused large-scale damage and destruction. (India-Floods-Deaths) Enditem
