TEHRAN, Oct. 21 (Xinhua) -- Iran's Air Force launched on Thursday large-scale and nationwide drills, state TV IRIB reported.
All the air bases of the Iranian army participated in the exercise, chief commander of the Iranian army's air force Brigadier General Hamid Vahedi was quoted as saying.
A major role has been assigned to air bases in the central city of Isfahan, southern Bushehr, southeastern Bandar Abbas, southwestern Dezful, and northwestern Tabriz, the Iranian commander added.
The central headquarters of the air force near Tehran determined the targets and communicated directly with the pilots in the fighters, he said.
In the maneuver, heavy and semi-heavy locally-developed smart bombs were used, along with missiles guided by laser, thermal cameras and radar. Enditem
