KAMPALA, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) -- Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni on Monday said the hunt for terrorists in the latest bombings in the country is still on.

Museveni in a tweet was reacting to the latest bomb explosion on a bus traveling from the capital Kampala to the western part of the country.

The president said police are investigating as to whether the person blown up was the one carrying the bomb or not.

"Preliminary reports say that the blast was from the seat and it killed only that person and injured the one who was sitting behind. The hunt continues, the clues are clear and plenty," Museveni said.

The remaining 37 other passengers were safe plus the driver, the president said.

Police earlier said two people had died in the incident and several were injured.

The explosion happened days after a bomb blast at a bar and restaurant in Kampala left one person dead and three injured.

Police on Monday urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious characters. Enditem
