TEHRAN, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) -- Disruption in the fueling systems at some gas stations in Iran on Tuesday has been caused by a "cyberattack," the official IRNA news agency reported.

Technical experts are solving the problem and the fueling process in the gas stations will soon return to normal, said the report, adding that the disruption was due to a "cyberattack."

The details of this attack and its origin are under further investigation, and additional information will be released after the investigation is concluded, according to the report.

"The issue of supply disruption in the fuel stations is related to the computers inside the stations and disconnection from the existing terminals," Jalil Salari, deputy petroleum minister and managing director of the National Iranian Petroleum Products Distribution Company, was quoted as saying.

"After the measures are taken, the problem of fuel supply in the stations will be solved in the next few hours," Salari added.

Stating that there is no problem with fuel reserves, he noted that there are sufficient reserves of fuel.

Media reports said earlier that a halt in gasoline supply at some gas stations in the capital Tehran and some other cities have caused problems for the citizens. Enditem
