HEFEI, Nov. 20 (Xinhua) -- China's new energy vehicle (NEV) market has been maintaining strong growth. The country's NEV sales rocketed 134.9 percent year on year in October of 2021 to about 383,000 units and its NEV ownership reached 5.8 million units by late May of 2021, accounting for about half of the global total, data showed.

Anhui Province, in east China, aims to build itself as an important new energy vehicle manufacturing powerhouse. According to its development plan, the province hopes to cultivate three to five top brands of NEV in the next few years.

From the ongoing World Manufacturing Convention in Hefei to a promotion show of a Chinese NEV brand in Vienna, Austria, let's take a journey with Xinhua correspondents on the Chinese electric cars and its global market.
