GLOBALink | Century-old cement plant turned into art zone in N China

TANGSHAN, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) -- A cement plant has been renovated and turned into an art zone in Tangshan, N China.

Qixin cement plant, founded in 1889, was the first of its kind in China. The plant was removed from its original site in 2008. A museum of cement industry and an art zone were rebuilt there instead.

Visitors can learn the history of the plant by looking at the exhibition of tools applied in the cement production. They can also enjoy food and art at studios which were transformed from the workrooms of the plant.

The art zone has become a new attraction in Tangshan.
