Zhou Wenjuan, a post-80s makeup artist in Yongzhou City, central China's Hunan Province, has been providing free makeup and styling service for rural women since 2020. Born in a village in Hunan, Zhou knew that rural women in her hometown seldom wore makeup but were curious about cosmetics. In 2020, Zhou began to do free makeup for local women and recorded their changes by videos. The videos posted on social media platforms attracted many rural women who wanted to have their first makeup experience. So far, she has done free makeup and styling for more than 50 rural women in the surrounding areas, and she believes that with makeup, rural women can discover their own beauty and enjoy their life.
