TEHRAN, Dec. 3 (Xinhua) -- Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian said Friday that the ongoing negotiation process in the Austrian capital of Vienna on the revival of 2015 nuclear deal, formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), is "good."

"Overall negotiation process is good, but slow," Amir Abdollahian made the remarks in a telephone conversation with the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell.

"The Iranian delegation is actively present at the negotiating table with good intentions, necessary authority and achievable and forward-looking initiatives," he was quoted as saying by the Iranian Foreign Ministry official website.

Iran's negotiations and measures are aimed to fully end the sanctions which violate the JCPOA, he said, adding that the West must also take its real initiative in ending the sanctions and put an end to violation of the rights and interests of the Iranian people.

He emphasized the commitment of Iran to technical cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), saying that "despite the breach by the United States and the inaction of three European countries, we are present in the Vienna talks in good faith."

"We believe that a good agreement is available, but it requires a change in the approach of some parties, from the rhetoric of threat to the rhetoric of cooperation, mutual respect and results-oriented talks," he noted.

For his part, Borrell stressed "the importance of Vienna talks, which are seriously pursued by all negotiating delegations from Germany, China, Russia, France, Britain, and especially the Islamic Republic of Iran, to achieve an agreement."

Borrell expressed satisfaction with the start of negotiations and readiness in the European Union to help resolve the issue. He also called for the flexibility of all parties in the continuation of the talks.

Both officials described as "positive" the atmosphere of current talks. Enditem
