BEIJING, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) -- The following is a summary of published science and technology news of China.
A special lecture will begin at 3:40 p.m. (Beijing Time) on Thursday, given by the three Shenzhou-13 crew members aboard China's space station, the China Manned Space Agency (CMSA) announced on Monday.
The three astronauts, namely Zhai Zhigang, Wang Yaping and Ye Guangfu, will interact with students on Earth. The primary ground classroom will be at the China Science and Technology Museum. Classrooms will also be set up in Nanning of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Wenchuan County of Sichuan Province, Hong Kong and Macao, said the CMSA.
AI PILOT ZONES
China has built 17 national artificial intelligence (AI) innovative development pilot zones, a Chinese official has said.
In 2019, China started to build a new generation of national AI innovative development pilot zones, relying on local governments to carry out technology demonstrations, policy pilots, and social experiments.
According to a document released by the Ministry of Science and Technology, China plans to build around 20 AI pilot zones by 2023.
PLANAR PHOTONIC CHIP
Chinese researchers have developed a planar photonic chip with tailored angular transmission to obtain high-contrast optical microscopic images.
They discovered that using a planar photonic chip with tailored angular transmission as the sample substrate, a standard bright-field microscopy can provide both darkfield and total internal reflection (TIR) microscopy images with one experimental set-up. Enditem
