BOZHOU, Dec. 15 (Xinhua) -- The Hexin wind power plant in Bozhou, east China's Anhui Province can generate more than 100 million kWh per year, which can help save more than 36,000 tonnes of standard coal annually.

In comparison to conventional wind farms, this one has energy storage facilities with a capacity of 10 MWh. It can temporarily store electricity during peak generation hours and then release it during peak consumption hours.

China's new energy power generation has grown steadily in recent years. The country's installed renewable-energy power generation capacity reached one billion kilowatts by the end of October 2021, doubling that of the end of 2015. By redistributing electricity during peak and off-peak hours, the "new energy + storage" system contributes to the stable operation of the power grid and new energy consumption.
