A Syrian artist has made a 3D painting of the Great Wall with olive pits.

Mazen Shaiban has been creating 3D paintings about life in old Damascus for nearly 25 years, but when he aspired to become an international artist, he started on international landmarks, the first of which was the Great Wall of China.

Creating paintings with olive kernels is a new attempt by Shaiban, who has rich experience in creating artworks using various materials.

He told Xinhua that he had spent one week just looking at photos of the Great Wall because he had never seen it in person.

After long hours of observing the photos, he started composing the Great Wall with over 80,000 olive kernels.
