MADRID, Dec. 16 (Xinhua) -- The Spanish Copa del Rey knockout competition produced two more surprises on Thursday night as La Liga sides Granada and Getafe were knocked out of the competition by lower league opposition.

Atletico Baleares, from the third tier of the Spanish game, humiliated relegation-threatened Getafe 5-0 with goals from Pedro Orfila, who scored twice, Dioni, Manel Martinez and Vinicius Tanque.

Atletico Mancha Real sprang an even bigger shock as the fourth-tier team defeated Granada 1-0 with a 21st minute strike from Jose Enrique Rodriguez.

Elsewhere, Real Betis needed extra-time before beating Talavera 4-2, in a game that was in the balance until Diego Lainez and Sergio Canales scored in the 116th and 119th minutes.

Fourth-tier Club Deportivo Arenteiro also gave Valencia a difficult night before the visitors ran out 3-1 winners after extra-time.

It looked as if it was going to be easy for Valencia when Yunus Musah back-heeled them ahead after just 30 seconds, but the home side dug in and were level just eight minutes later thanks to Jonathan Magisano's left-foot drive. It wasn't until the 110th minute that Hugo Guillamon put Valencia back in front and Manu Vallejo sealed the win with a late tap-in.

Osasuna won 2-1 away to Deportivo La Coruna, with goals from Kike Garcia and Ante Budimir canceling out Carlos Doncell's opener for the side that won the Copa 20 years ago.

Florin Andone's solitary goal saw struggling Cadiz through away to Albacete, although Cadiz coach Alvaro Cervera had earlier said the priority was avoiding relegation.

Real Mallorca cruised past Llanera with a 6-0 win, with all the goals coming in the second half through Javier Exposito, Josep Gaya, Jordi Mboula, Angel Rodriguez and two from Aleksander Sedlar.

Elsewhere, Almeria won 2-1 away to Amorebieta, and 2020 semifinalists Mirandes won 2-1 away to Lugo.

Earlier in the round, top-flight sides Levante and Alaves were knocked out by Alcoyano and Linares Deportivo respectively. Enditem.
