WUHAN, Dec. 22 (Xinhua) -- Wuhan Three Towns raised the season's trophy though losing 2-1 to Zhejiang FC in the 34th round of the 2021 China League One, while Meizhou Hakka tied with Kunshan FC 1-1 to grasp a ticket for the next season's Chinese Super League on Wednesday.

Having already secured the promotion and the season's championship before the final round, Wuhan was in high spirits during the match. In the 19th minute, Sang Yifei volleyed the ball to Brazilian forward Ademilson in the penalty area, who then headed the goal home.

The fourth-placed Zhejiang also went all out to fight for the decisive match that could possibly promote it to the CSL with no more playoffs.

With two strikes from Brazilian forward Matheus Nascimento in the second half, Zhejiang came back strong to defeat Wuhan 2-1.

However, the victory did not secure Zhejiang the promotion ticket.

Elsewhere, with 74 points before the final round, Meizhou Hakka could be directly promoted to CSL either with a victory or a tie in the match against Kunshan.

Meizhou tried hard to cut the deficit to Kunshan, who scored first in the 18th minute. Meizhou finally made it seconds before the final whistle when Gui Hong shot into the far top corner.

After the final round, the top two finishers Wuhan and Meizhou got the direct promotion, while Zhejiang, who sits third in the League One standings, and Chengdu Rongcheng, the fourth finisher, will enter the playoffs against the last two teams in CSL.

Meanwhile, Beijing Institute of Technology and Xinjiang Tianshan Leopard, the worst two finishers in League One, enter a post-season relegation playoff with the third and fourth placed teams from China's third tier. Enditem
