KAMPALA, Oct. 18 (Xinhua) -- The Ugandan immigration department on Monday said they have rescued six Eritreans who were being trafficked to the east African country.
Agnes Igoye, deputy National Coordinator of Prevention of Trafficking in Persons at the Directorate of Citizenship and Immigration Control, said the victims were rescued in the eastern Ugandan district of Jinja while en route to the capital Kampala from neighboring Kenya.
"We have six victims, five male, and one female in total, and they don't speak English. We had to get an interpreter for them. They have no travel documents," Igoye told local media here.
"Everybody in the chain is going to be arrested. Be very careful who you give a lift from the border," she added. Enditem
