COLOMBO, Dec. 14 (Xinhua) -- Sri Lanka will aim to scale up its Information Communication Technology (ICT) and Business Process Management (BPM) export industry to 3 billion U.S. dollars, state media quoting a government minister reported here Tuesday.
Minister of Youth and Sports and State Minister of Digital Technology and Enterprise Development Namal Rajapaksa was quoted in state-owned Daily News saying that an expert committee has been appointed to formulate a fintech road map for Sri Lanka.
"The COVID-19 crisis has highlighted the need for significant support and investment on digital transformation, effective digital governance across all countries in the region, in particular delivery of core government functions," Rajapksa said.
Rajapaksa said inclusion should be at the heart of digital transformation and that modern technology should be integrated into all sectors of the economy, including agriculture, industry and services. Enditem
