The People’s Republic of China Yearbook ( China Yearbook” for short), first
published in 1981, is China’s only comprehensive national yearbook. It is offi cially
endorsed by the General Offi ce of the State Council, approved by the National Press
and Publication Administration, and supervised by Xinhua News Agency. Published
by Xinhua Publishing House, the China Yearbook is available in both Chinese and
English. The Chinese version has been published annually for 45 consecutive years
and is distributed worldwide.
The annual editions of the China Yearbook are regularly collected by Chinese
government agencies, foreign embassies and consulates in China, institutions of
higher education, enterprises, and renowned overseas libraries. From 2021 to 2023,
the China Yearbook (Chinese version) was on prominent display on President Xi
Jinping’s bookshelf during his annual New Year address. The China Yearbook off ers
comprehensive, well-documented and authoritative content, further solidifying its
status as an definitive publication for understanding, researching, and investing in
China.
