TAIYUAN, Dec. 28 (Xinhua) -- Blue walls, colorful chairs and Disney characters make up the Disney Fun House.
"Look at the camera sweetheart," said a mother to her child at the hospital ward. "Let's take a picture with Mickey Mouse!"
The 23rd Disney Fun House in China has opened in the Children's Hospital of Shanxi in north China's Shanxi Province, cheering up children there.
"The hospital experience is usually not that great for people, but we hope that the Fun House can alleviate the stress and anxiety for the kids and their parents," said hospital director Kang Wenjuan.
The Disney Fun House was sponsored by a special fund under the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation. Since its establishment in 2016, the Fun Houses have touched the hearts of many in children's hospitals in China.
In 2016, the Walt Disney Company donated 20 million yuan (around 2.86 million U.S. dollars) to the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation and launched the Disney Fun House project. It planned to build more than 50 such Fun Houses for children's hospitals across China within five years.
