At least 2 people were killed and more than 10 others injured after a massive car bomb exploded at a busy checkpoint in Mogadishu on Wednesday morning, witnesses said.
MOGADISHU, Jan. 8 (Xinhua) -- At least two people were killed and more than ten others injured after a massive car bomb exploded at a busy checkpoint in Somali capital Mogadishu on Wednesday morning, witnesses said.
The witnesses said the attacker drove a car laden with explosives into the Sayidka junction, a checkpoint as vehicles lined up for security search at around 10 a.m..

The checkpoint is between security ministry headquarters and Lower House building in Sayidka area.
Efforts are underway to rescue the victims, mostly commuters who were going to their places of work. ■
