BEIJING, Jan. 10 (Xinhua) -- "Richard Jewell," a 2019 American biographical drama film directed by Clint Eastwood, started screening in China via the country's alliance of arthouse cinemas Friday.
Also known as "The Ballad of Richard Jewell," the film depicts the Centennial Olympic Park bombing and its aftermath during the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, the U.S. state of Georgia, in which security guard Richard Jewell found a bomb and alerted authorities to evacuate, only to be later wrongly accused of having placed it himself.
Clint Eastwood is the Oscar-winning director of "Unforgiven" and "Million Dollar Baby."
