LAUSANNE, Jan. 10 (Xinhua) -- Russian duo Andrei Mozalev and Daniil Samsonov finished 1-2 on figure skating men's single short program at 2020 Youth Winter Olympics on Friday.
Mozalev collected 79.72 points, 3.10 more than his compatriot Samsonov. Kagiyama Yuma from Japan took the third place with 72.76 points.
Mozalev leads a total of 15 competitors in total element score at 42.14 points. He turned out to be the only one finished above 40 on that category.
Swiss skater Noah Bodenstein excited the home crowd and got the ninth place with 60.56 points.
Chen Yudong from China was listed 10th with 57.31.
"It's my first time on such a big stage and I was a little bit nervous," said Chen after the short program.
"I made several mistakes and I will keep improving in the coming days."
The free skating phase is scheduled on Sunday.
