SYDNEY, Jan. 31 (Xinhua) -- The Australian dollar has fallen sharply on Friday, following the decision by the World Health Organization (WHO) to declare the coronavirus outbreak a global health emergency.
At the Asian market open 07:00am (AEDT), the local unit was trading at 67.12 U.S. cents, down from 67.55 U.S. cents at the same time yesterday.
Reaching 67.00 U.S. cents overnight, the currency surpassed a four-month low and is now at risk of falling further.
At 09:00am (AEDT), the Aussie dollar was buying 67.19 U.S. cents. Enditem
