NAIROBI, Jan. 31 (Xinhua) -- Africa China Banking Centre of Stanbic Bank Kenya is attracting Chinese investments into Kenya by providing a one-stop center to facilitate cross-border trade finance, an official said on Friday.
Catherine Mabwa, an analyst at the Center, told journalists in Nairobi that the facility offers research and advisory services to Chinese investors seeking opportunities in Kenya.
"We also have Chinese RMB capabilities that make it easy to receive remittances in Kenya in the Chinese yuan without the need to first convert it into U.S. dollars," Mabwa said.
Stanbic Bank Kenya is part of the Standard Bank Group whose single largest shareholder is the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC).
Mabwa said that the financial institution also provides a platform to enable Kenyan investors to network and develop a partnership with Chinese investors in order to ensure that China-Kenya collaborations yield win-win outcomes for both parties.
Stanbic Bank Kenya has developed a number of tailor-fit products to suit Chinese customers so as to improve their banking experiences.
