BEIJING -- Chinese stocks closed higher on Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.33 percent, at 2,875.96 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.10 percent higher at 10,611.55 points.

HONG KONG -- Hong Kong stocks closed down 89.43 points, or 0.33 percent, to 27,404.27 points on Friday.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index traded between 27,224.12 and 27,410.58. Turnover totaled 99.41 billion Hong Kong dollars (about 12.81 billion U.S. dollars).

TOKYO -- Tokyo stocks closed lower Friday, as profit-taking by some investors offset earlier gains facilitated by a strong performance in U.S. shares.

A total of 2,043 shares worth 26.8 million riels (6,580 U.S. dollars) were traded, the CSX said, adding that 33 percent, 10 percent and 57 percent of the traded shares belonged to Sihanoukville Autonomous Port (PAS), Phnom Penh SEZ, Plc (PPSP), and Phnom Penh Autonomous Port (PPAP), respectively.

WELLINGTON -- New Zealand stock market's indicator, the S&P/NZX 50 index, jumped by 1.34 percent to 11,761 on Friday.

The jump was led by Kathmandu Holdings Limited, which went up by 12.79 percent to 3.44 NZ dollars (2.22 U.S. dollars), while Enprise Group Limited dropped by 18.6 percent to 0.7 NZ dollars.
