NINGBO, Feb. 7 (Xinhua) -- The China Ningbo Containerized Freight Index (NCFI) falls in European and Mediterranean routes.
NCFI, a wind vane of China's busiest port's freight rates for the international container shipping market, stood at 901.7 points Friday, down 3.9 percent compared with last week.
The sub-index for the route to Europe stood at 781.8 points, down 7.6 percent against last week. Freight indices quoted 793 points in the routes to the east coast of Mediterranean and 892.5 points in the routes to the west coast, declining by 3.9 percent and 5.6 percent against last week respectively.
According to the Ningbo Shipping Exchange, it is expected there are few new sources of shipments during the Spring Festival, most liner companies will lower the booking prices.
