BERLIN, Feb. 20 (Xinhua) -- German car maker Volkswagen and the Federation of German Consumer Organizations (vzbv) would resume negotiations "on the advice of the court," the Brunswick higher regional court announced on Thursday.
Last week, Volkswagen cancelled the negotiations in the diesel emissions scandal with vzbv because of high cost demands by vzbv for handling the settlement.
In a class action lawsuit, around 460,000 owners of Volkswagen diesel cars are seeking compensation for the manipulation of diesel exhaust values which Volkswagen had admitted in 2015.
Following the announcement of the failed negotiations, Volkswagen had offered suing customers in Germany 830 million euros (897 million U.S dollars) in compensation.
There had been "no change in the vzbv's demand that a settlement must be fair, transparent and verifiable," the consumer organization said on Thursday.
