Acting on tip-offs, the joint anti-narcotic police force confiscated 85 kilograms of marijuana and 12 kilograms of raw opium in Mong Nai and Pekon townships on Thursday.

A suspect was charged while search for another one is underway under the country's Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law, the release said.

On the same day, soap boxes filled with a total of 1.76 kilograms of heroin were separately seized from two motorbikes, along with two suspects in Paungbyin and Pinlebu townships of Sagaing region.
