Wages in Czech Republic up by 7.1 pct in 2019

PRAGUE, March 6 (Xinhua) -- In 2019, average gross monthly nominal wages in the Czech Republic raised by 7.1 percent, according to data published on Friday by the Czech Statistical Office.

The average wage amounted to 34,125 Czech crowns (1,519 U.S. dollars) per month, up by 2,257 crowns, or 7.1 percent, compared to the previous year, said the statistical office.

Consumer prices increased by 2.8 percent in the same period, representing a real wage increase of about 4.2 percent, it said.

In the 4th quarter of 2019, the average wage totaled 36,144 crowns, up by 2,274 crowns, or 6.7 percent, for the corresponding period of the year prior.
