RABAT, March 16 (Xinhua) -- The Casablanca Stock Exchange recorded on Monday a large decline, with the majority of its sector indices on red, amid panic caused by COVID-19 pandemic.
The Moroccan All Shares Index (MASI) lost 8.82 percent of value on Monday alone, reaching an all-time low of 9,596 points.
MASI is a stock index that tracks the performance of all companies listed in the Casablanca Stock Exchange. It is one of the two main Moroccan indexes, the other being the Moroccan Most Active Shares Index (MADEX).
MADEX lost 9.05 percent of its value, reaching its lowest points of 7,784.45.
The Casablanca Stock Exchange recorded 173 million U.S. dollar of transactions on Monday. Enditem
