China is going at full throttle on clean energy transition to achieve carbon neutrality, as Wednesday marked the country's National Low-Carbon Day.

A solar panel production line in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region is contributing to China's total solar power installed capacity of more than 271 million kilowatts, according to data from the National Energy Administration (NEA).

Each solar panel with a capacity of 500 watts is capable of generating at least 600 kWh per year, cutting carbon emissions by about 600 kilograms.

China has announced that it will strive to peak carbon dioxide emissions by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2060.
