British youngster Raducanu keeps moving on in U.S. Open

NEW YORK, Sept. 9 (Xinhua) -- Britain's Emma Raducanu upset Tokyo Olympic gold medalist Belinda Bencic 6-3, 6-4 to advance to the women's singles semifinals in the U.S. Open here on Wednesday.

The British youngster continues her magic show in the Grand Slam, quickly recovered from a nervous start and won the game in two straight sets.

After beating Bencic, Raducanu, ranked just No. 150 in the world, is the only qualifier in history to advance to the semifinals of the US Open in both men's and women's singles.

"It was a really tough match for me," Raducanu said, "I was just trying to focus on what I can control. My serve. Slamming first serves."
