BEIJING, Sept. 22 (Xinhua) -- Domestic disaster movie "Cloudy Mountain" topped the Chinese mainland box office on Tuesday, figures from the China Movie Data Information Network showed on Wednesday.
The film, about a father-and-son duo's journey to save a newly-built tunnel and a town of 160,000 residents from the peril of natural disasters, generated 71 million yuan (10.97 million U.S. dollars) on its fifth day of screening.
The hit movie was followed by Chinese drama movie "All About My Mother," which gained 22.85 million yuan on Tuesday, its third day of screening.
Coming in third was Chinese action film "Raging Fire," which pocketed 16.7 million yuan on Tuesday. The film's cumulative earnings in China have exceeded 1.29 billion yuan since its July 30 release. Enditem
