DUNHUANG, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- As one of the main exhibitions of the 5th Silk Road (Dunhuang) International Cultural Expo and the 10th Dunhuang Tour-Silk Road International Tourism Festival, an exhibition featuring duplications of Dunhuang's cultural relics was unveiled in the city on Friday.

The exhibition consisted of three units: the discovery of the Library Cave in the Mogao Grottoes, the scattered art treasure and the reproduction of Dunhuang art. Digital technology was used in the exhibition to restore the scene of the Library Cave.

A total of 200 replicas of Dunhuang's cultural relics scattered overseas were displayed. In addition, 100 pieces of cultural relics of the Library Cave and Buddhist relics from various museums in Gansu were also displayed at the exhibition. Those exhibits include silk paintings, paper paintings, linen paintings and Dunhuang manuscripts in the Library Cave from the Southern and Northern dynasties to the Northern Song Dynasty.

In recent years, more attention has been paid to Dunhuang studies. Many exquisite replicas of cultural relics were returned home, bringing a transnational way to understand Dunhuang studies.
