TEHRAN, Sept. 28 (Xinhua) -- Iran has prepared plans to counter threats by Israel, an unnamed senior defense official was quoted as saying by Tasnim news agency on Tuesday.
The official affiliated with Iran's Khatam al-Anbia Central Headquarters said that Israel is still considered as "the first place of threats and insecurity in the West Asia region, thanks to the supports it has received from the United States and some European countries."
Iran has prepared "multiple intelligence and operational scenarios to thwart Israel and the U.S. threats in the region," he was quoted as saying.
The Iranian Armed Forces can inflict heavy and irreparable costs on the enemies, he said, adding that "the bulk of the U.S. financial and humanitarian costs and multiple defeats in the region, especially in the past two decades, has been caused by following the Zionist regime's strategies and demands."
