SHARJAH, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) -- Chinese players are experiencing difficulties of boredom, low morale and sweltering weather as they are preparing for the FIFA World Cup qualifier against Vietnam, suggested Chinese defender Wu Xinghan.

The Chinese side, which was outclassed by Australia and Japan in their first two games of the final stage of Asia World Cup qualification, set up a one-month-long training camp in Sharjah, the United Arab Emirates to prepare for their next encounter against Vietnam, which was scheduled on October 7.

They are now being beset by problems in the camp where they cannot exit due to self-imposed COVID restrictions.

"It's true that we are facing considerable difficulties, considering we have a long-term training camp under the sweltering weather," said Wu.

Chinese players, in high spirits before their campaign started, were dealt a heavy blow to their morale by their losses to Australia and Japan, where they failed to muster a single shot on target.

"The losses in the first two games brought pressure on us," Wu said.

"But we can not lose confidence and should make every effort to prepare for the Vietnam game," he added. Enditem
