JERUSALEM, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) -- The third dose of COVID-19 vaccine has caused just one case of myocarditis among children aged 19 and under, found a report issued by the Israeli Ministry of Health on Thursday.

To date, about 117,000 Israeli youngsters, most of whom aged 16 to 19, have received the third booster shots.

For comparison, 45 boys and three girls under the age of 19 in Israel suffered from myocarditis after receiving the second COVID-19 vaccine doses.

The report added that among all people vaccinated with the third doses in Israel, there was a lower rate of side effects such as fatigue and weakness, compared to the first and second doses.

In addition, only 25 cases of serious adverse effects after receiving the third vaccine have been reported, out of more than 3.3 million people who received the third dose in the country so far. Enditem
