KIEV, Oct. 7 (Xinhua) -- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has vetoed the law legalizing and regulating cryptocurrency adopted by the Ukrainian parliament, the president's press service said on Wednesday.

Zelensky sent the law "On Virtual Assets" (bill No. 3637) back to the parliament with his additional proposals, said the message published on the president's press service website.

According to the law adopted by parliament members on Sept. 8, cryptocurrency regulation is carried out by different state bodies depending on the type of crypto asset, and calls for the creation of a new central executive body, the press service said.

"The creation of a new body, as stipulated by this law, will require significant state budget spendings. Therefore, Volodymyr Zelensky proposes the National Commission for Securities and Stock Market to regulate the virtual assets," said the press service. Enditem
