BRATISLAVA, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- The second round of the Slovak basketball premiership SBL saw all teams lose at least one game in the new season, except for BKM Lucenec which outscored BC Prievidza 88-71 on Saturday.

Lucenec dominated the first quarter 24-13 and it was key to the second victory of the season, serving BC Prievidza its second defeat and sending it down to the bottom of the rankings.

Lucenec's new American point guard Desure Buie led the game's scoring with 24 points, as well as 4 rebounds, and 4 assists.

"I am very happy about the determination my guys showed almost throughout the whole game. We are on the right track of improving our offense and defense but we still have a long way to go," said Lucenec coach Daniel Sokolovsky.

The Spis Knights wanted to make up for their season-opener defeat and jumped at MBK Komarno aggressively from the get-go, dominating 29-15 after the first quarter and laying a solid foundation for their 87-75 win. The Knight's new American guard Grant Dressler had a great double-double night with 21 points and 10 rebounds.

MBK Banik Handlova controlled the home game against Iskra Svit almost throughout the match but allowed the visitors to even things up in the final stretch and even take a one-point lead. But Handlova rallied once again and took over the scoreboard in the final moments to cruise to a 76-67 victory. Enditem
