A pet owner (L) consults Fan Kai about her pet's disease at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital of China Agricultural University (CAU) in Beijing, capital of China, Oct. 29, 2021. In 2020, the traditional Chinese veterinary medicine department in CAU has been approved for enrolling students, which offers a good opportunity for ambitious and animal-loving talents to start a career. Students of the major have the access to knowledge of treating animals with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), and make shifts at a vet hospital affiliated to the college to gain practical experience. Fan Kai, an associate professor in the College of Veterinary Medicine and Dean of the department, often guides students in diagnosing diseases and treating animals through TCM at the hospital. According to Professor Fan, diagnosis and therapies will be made through TCM combining modern medical science such as acupuncture and pulse-feeling. (Xinhua/Chen Zhonghao)
