VALLETTA, Nov. 24 (Xinhua) -- A woman who was among a group of 43 migrants rescued by the Armed Forces of Malta (AFM) on Wednesday died shortly after arriving in the country, the army said in a statement.

A boat full of migrants, including 12 women and two children, were rescued during the operation.

"Upon rescue, migrants were provided with first assistance according to their need. Regretfully one of the migrants deteriorated upon arrival and passed away," the AFM said.

The remainder of the migrants are receiving medical attention, with many suffering from ill health and exhaustion.

This was the second boat of migrants to land on Malta this month. Enditem
